Woman Killed in Trelawny Car Crash involving Knutsford Express Bus
The Constabulary Communication Unit (CCU) has reported that a motor vehicle accident claimed the life of a woman during a collision with a Knutsford Express bus on Thursday, June 28.
Reports are that the motor vehicle accident occurred at about 4:00 pm along the Rio Bueno main road in Trelawny, involving a Knutsford Express bus and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) being driven by a woman.
The female driver was the only casualty in Thursday’s accident after she got trapped in her SUV, which eventually caught on fire, leaving the woman burnt beyond recognition.
The woman is yet to be identified. However, she is believed to be a resident of Trelawny.
Multiple passengers traveling in the bus sustained injuries and had to be taken to the Falmouth Hospital to receive treatment.
The bus was traveling towards St Ann while the SUV being driven by the woman was traveling in the opposite direction.
The roadway along the scene of the accident had to be temporarily closed while the traffic was diverted to the old road through the town of Rio Bueno.
