Vybz Kartel Visited Juror’s Son Said Court Official, Juror Excused from Case
It is reported that incarcerated entertainer Vybz Kartel approached the son of a juror during his trial, which caused the juror to request being discharged from her civic duties.
The information was brought up in court yesterday by Jeremy Taylor, senior deputy director of public prosecutions, who explained that the juror went to visit her son in the Horizon Adult Correctional Centre where she made eye contact with Andre St John, who was a co-accused in the murder trial along with Vybz Kartel.
The woman also expressed that she was told by her son during her visit that he was approached by Kartel himself at the prison facility, which caused her to get scared. However, there was no mention of what was said to the juror’s son during that alleged confrontation.
This sparked the former juror to appeal to Justice Lennox Campbell, who later discharged her from her jury duties with an explanation that she had personal reasons.
The decisions by Campbell to remove the juror was not challenged by anyone, this according to Taylor, in reference to the attorneys of the accused men.
