Vybz Kartel Avoids Court, He Doesn’t Want His Presence to Distract From His Appeal
Incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel has made the calculated decision to avoid being in court since the start of his appeal last Monday.
According to sources close to the entertainer, Kartel does not want to turn his court hearing into a media frenzy, which is why he and his co-accused opted to not be present.
According to the defence team, Kartel is fully aware of all the arguing points that will be put forward by his attorneys so he is highly confident in their abilities.
The defence team will make their arguments starting today, July 16 onwards till Thursday, July 19. While the prosecution will make their arguments on Friday, July 20.
According to Kartel’s defence attorney Valarie Neita-Robertson, her client is very anxious to learn his faith and based on the proceedings so far, he could find out the verdict of the appeal by next week.
Adidja Palmer, popularly known as Vybz Kartel, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones, are all currently keeping their hopes high that the Court of Appeal will clear their names of the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. The four men were all convicted to life in prison, with Kartel ordered to serve 35 years.
