Vendor Shot Dead by Gunmen in Mandeville Market Attack
A vendor was shot dead by gunmen in the Mandeville Market in Manchester on Monday.
He has been identified as Howard Brown of Grey Ground and Old England addresses in the parish.
Police reports are that about 3:50 p.m., Brown was in the market when he was approached and shot several times by men armed with guns.
The sounds of multiple gunfire sent members of the public scampering for cover in a section of the town contre, where the market is located.
Reports are that shortly after the attack, two men, allegedly from the attacking group, were held while trying to escape from the scene of the crime.
Brown was later pronounced dead.
An intense police investigation has been launched into the incident.
