Two Robbers Shot by Licensed Firearm Holder During Robbery Attempt
The Jamaica Constabulary’s Corporate Communication Unit (CCU) has reported a failed robbery attempt which led to two robbers being shot and injured by a licensed firearm holder.
According to reports, three men went to a plaza on Molynes Road where they attempted to rob persons within the vicinity. Their attempts were however foiled by a licensed firearm holder who was amongst the group of patrons.
A gun battle ensued between the would-be robbers and the licensed gun holder, resulting in the shooting and injury of two of the men.
The police were alerted and the men were taken to hospital on their arrival, while the third man involved in the robbery attempt was missing when the shootings subsided.
The officers reported finding an illegal firearm on the scene of the shooting.
The two injured men are currently in the hospital receiving treatment while under police custody.
The police are currently probing the shooting to determine the identity of the third man.
