Two Men Shot Dead by Police in St James, Glock Pistol Seized
The Communications Arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (CCU) has reported that two men were shot and killed by law enforcement officers in St James.
One of the men has been identified as 27-year-old Shacardo Malcolm otherwise called ‘Skelli’ of Irvwin Heights in the parish, while the other remains unidentified.
Reports are that a police unit was on patrol in parts of the parish moments after 2:00 pm when they were fired upon by a group of men from the community. The police unit made evasive manoeuvres and returned fire.
After the gun battle subsided, checks were made, and two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to the hospital where they were both confirmed dead by a medical practitioner.
A Glock pistol was seized from the men during the operation.
The parish of St James has been under an extended state of public emergency since January 2018.
