Two Men Shot Dead by Gunmen at Duke Street in May Pen, Clarendon
Another double murder has rocked in the island as gunmen continued their rampage in what could be described as a ‘bloody week’ which just ended, across the country.
The development is despite the imposition of three states of public emergency, in St James, the St Catherine North Police Division and sections of the Corporate Area.
The latest victims in the ongoing scourge of murders were two men, including a driver employed to the Clarendon Parish Library at May Pen, who were shot dead by unknown assailants on Duke Street in May Pen on Friday night.
The deceased have been identified as 55-year-old Gladstone Allen, otherwise called ‘Cuban’, the driver employed to the library; and 42-year-old Gregory Mitchell of Oliver Place, also in May Pen.
Reports are that at about 9:45 p.m., residents heard loud explosions coming from a section of Duke Street and alerted the police at the nearby May Pen station.
Upon their arrival, police personnel found Allen lying beside a Green Nissan Sunny motorcar with gunshot wounds to his face and chest.
Mitchell was found lying face down in a nearby yard with bullet wounds to his upper back.
Both men were pronounced dead at hospital.
Investigators are yet to establish a motive for the deadly attack.
