Two Men Murdered in St Andrew, Bodies Fished From the Dallas River

The bodies of two men who were fished from the Dallas River in St Andrew on Sunday, have been identified.

They are 25-year-olds Akiele Davis of Lydford Housing Scheme in St Ann; and Reynold Kerr of an Arcadia address in St Andrew.

The police said they have received information that Davis was a student of the University of Technology (UTech), and Kerr a student of the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU).

Investigators are now following several leads behind the deaths of the men.

One of the theories is that the men were victims of a carjacking.

“We believe the victims were travelling in a car that belongs to one of their family members, when they were ambushed, killed and the vehicle (was) stolen,” a police explained.

The police said they have since found the car abandoned in a remote section of the August Town community.

Investigators attached to the Papine Police Station in St Andrew said the bodies were found floating in the Dallas River. A release from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) late on Sunday, labelled the development as a ‘Double murder in Papine police area’.

Reports are that about 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, citizens stumbled upon the bodies partially submerged in the water, and summoned the police.

On the arrival of law enforcement personnel, the bodies were removed from the water and taken to the morgue.
