Two Businessmen Shot Dead Hours apart in May Pen, Clarendon
Two prominent businessmen from May Pen, Clarendon were gunned down in two separate attacks yesterday June 21.
The first shooting claimed the life of 36-year-old Benroy Farquharson, otherwise called ‘Ezra’, who was a building contractor from Natalee Boulevard in May Pen.
Farquharson was shot and killed by armed men at his home.
According to reports, the incident took place at around 8:40 pm Wednesday night while the victim was at home. Armed men then kicked in the door of the deceased and opened fire hitting him several times in his chest.
Reportedly the attackers pretended to be law enforcement officers seeking permission to enter the premises.
The police were alerted by neighbours after hearing the loud explosions and Farquharson was taken to the hospital upon their arrival, but he had succumbed to his injuries.
The second shooting took place just hours later, which claimed the life of a 56-year-old prominent businessman, Keith Osbourne otherwise called ‘Smoker’, from Paisley District in the parish, was attacked and killed by gunmen while on a construction site.
According to reports, the incident unfolded at about 12:30 pm on Thursday, While Osbourne was standing on the side of the road when a Nissan Tiida motorcar drove up beside him containing several armed men. One of the men then alighted from the vehicle and opened fire, hitting Osbourne several times.
The gunmen then fled the scene to make their escape. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
