Two 50-y-o Men Shot Dead by Gunmen During Boxing Day Attack in Hanover
Two men, including one reportedly in a drunken state, were shot and killed by gunmen in Cold Spring, Hanover on Wednesday, Boxing Day.
The victims have been identified as 53-year-old farmer, Kenneth Hemans, and 52-year-old mason, Frank Birch, both of Cold Spring, Sandy Bay in the parish.
Reports from the Sandy Bay police are that about 2:00 a.m., residents heard explosions and alerted them.
On their arrival, the bodies of the men were seen lying on the roadway with multiple bullet wounds.
The scene was processed and the bodies removed to the morgue.
Sources from the area claimed that the men were attacked by gunmen sometime after Birch got into an argument with a group of men. Reports are that he was intoxicated at the time.
It has been claimed that Hemans went to the location to take Birch home, but both men were attacked and shot several times.
The Sandy Bay police are continuing investigations into the development.
