Three Shot Dead in Annotto Bay By Gunmen; Four Dead in Three Days in St Mary
Two men were shot dead in a suspected drive-by shooting in the troubled St Mary community of Annotto Bay on Saturday night, adding to an already worrying situation for the south eastern section of the parish.
Four murders – three in Annotto Bay and one in nearby Dover district – have occurred in the relatively quiet north coast parish between Thursday night and Saturday night, a situation that has sharply increased fear among some residents, especially with the gun being the weapon of choice in the attacks.
The latest victims to be killed by gunmen are 21-year-old Akeem Wilson and 22-year-old Ryan Morrison, both unemployed of Top Bay in Annotto Bay.
Reports are that sometime after 9:55 p.m., residents heard loud explosions in Top Bay and alerted the police.
Wilson and Morrison were later found suffering from gunshot wounds.
It is further reported that Wilson died at the scene, while Morrison succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.
Investigators are theorising that the men were killed in a drive-by shooting.
The double murder was a continuation of the mayhem that began in the parish on Thursday night, November 15, when businessman Manton Harrison was killed by robbers as he left his business establishment in Dover district.
