Police Officer Died in Motor Vehicle Accident in Negril, Westmoreland
The Jamaica Constabulary Force is in mourning the tragic loss of a district constable who was killed in a collision in Negril, Westmoreland on Saturday
The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Samuel Baker from the district of Tremolesworth in Highgate, St Mary.
Baker, who was also an employee at the Hawkeye Security Company as a security guard, was the only person to lose their lives in the two-vehicle collision.
According to reports, the deceased was driving a grey Toyota Corolla motor car, belonging to the Hawkeye Security Company, containing three female passengers at around 1 am.
The service then crashed into a Nissan Wing Road motor car, traveling in the opposite direction while Baker was approaching a section of the roadway.
The victims which included Baker and his three female passengers, along with the driver of the Nissan motor car and his passenger were taken to the hospital, where Baker succumbed to his injuries, while the others received treatment.
The police are currently carrying out their investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
