Mavado’s Cousin ‘Chase Cross’ Charged with Assault
The case involving dancehall artiste Mavado has officially been reassigned to the Major Investigation Division (MID), following an intense investigation into the family members of the deejay.
The attorney for Mavado’s 17-year-old son reported that a writ of habeas corpus has been filed in the St. Andrew Parish Court after the authorities refused to release the minor.
Mavado’s cousin and entertainer ‘Chase Cross‘ was charged earlier yesterday with the assault of Anthony Goulbourne, who is the man responsible for shooting at the artiste after an alleged altercation.
Chase Cross was later released on bail.
Goulbourne stated that he was assaulted by Mavado and his cousin, which led to his retaliation.
During the court hearing held on Friday, the detainee’s attorneys filed the writ demanding the release of the Mavado’s son, brother, two cousins and gardener.
The family members and associate of the entertainer were arrested while at the entertainers Norbrook home in St Andrew on Friday.
According to the authorities, they are being questioned in relation to the upsurge of violent attacks in and around the Cassava Piece area.
The court hearing has been reconvened until Monday, where an update will be provided to the judge as it relates to the status of the case.
