Man Shot Dead by Gunman in Grange Hill, Westmoreland

The police are currently probing the death of a man who was shot and killed by an unknown assailant in the community of Grange Hill in Westmoreland on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Dennis Sewell, who was a construction worker/businessman of Mint Road in the parish.

According to reports, Sewell was walking with a female companion at approximately 9:15 pm, on their way to a house, where they were approached by a gunman who shot him and fled the scene.

The female was not injured during the incident. However, her identity was not revealed to the public as a safety precaution.

The Morgan’s Bridge police were alerted, and upon their arrival, Sewell was taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Sewell’s murder is the latest for the year in the Grange Hill community, which was plagued by a gruesome killing of seven persons in a day just last May.

The police are currently investigating to determine the identity of the gunman and the motives for the killing.
