Businessman Shot Dead by Gunmen at the Mayfair Hotel in St Andrew, John Brandon Murray
Football academy operator and popular Clarendon businessman John Brandon Murray was shot and killed by gunmen at the Mayfair Hotel in St Andrew on Sunday afternoon.
According to news reports, 47-year-old Murray was driving on Kings House Close at approximately 4:15 pm, head towards the hotel. Upon reaching his destination, he was pounced upon by armed men travelling in a motorcar, who opened fire.
Murray was shot several times by his attackers, who then sped off from the scene.
Persons on location alerted the police, who arrived to find the businessman bleeding out in his car.
He was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased was a beloved businessman from the Clarendon Park community in South East Clarendon, where he operated his farming and fishery trade.
Murray also owned and operated the Sporting Central Academy, which was a principal factor in the National Premier Football League.
