American Child Drowns in Runaway Bay Hotel in St Ann
A two American child lost their lives while swimming in a pool at a prominent resort in St Ann in two separate incidents just three weeks apart, with the most recent happening on Thursday, June 5.
According to reports, the child who is from New York was swimming in the pool with his mother when the minor was found unresponsive.
The incident occurred at around 3:30 pm at a hotel, which the name has not yet been disclosed.
The Runaway Bay police have since confirmed the incident, but the identity of the minor has not yet been identified.
The child was taken to a nearby hospital, where the minor was confirmed dead.
The second incident which took place three weeks prior involved an 8-year-old boy who was later identified as Antoine Bookard.
The official reports from the Constabulary Communication Unit (CCU) is that the boy was swimming with his family at the pool when he was found unresponsive.
He was taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The two incidents have raised concerns about the resort, which upon research, revealed that there were numerous other similar drowning incidents dating back to the properties first creation.
