37-y-o Nail Technician Shot Dead in 100 Lane off Red Hills Road in the St Andrew
A curfew has been imposed in the traditionally fiercely competitive Park Lane and 100 Lane areas off Red Hills Road in the St Andrew North Police Division.
This follows the murder of 37-year-old nail technician, Hasia Fowles, from the 100 Lane community on Tuesday evening.
Fowles is the common-law wife of 100 Lane area leader, Rohan Nelson, who is currently in jail.
Nelson was among a number of men who were freed of murder charges in connection with the killing of seven persons on 100 Lane in 2001.
The police reported that on Tuesday evening, Fowles was sitting along the roadway with friends when a motorcar was driven up and the occupants opened fire, hitting her several times.
She was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The curfew began at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, and will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24.
The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:
NORTH: Intersection of Red Hills Road and Pennant Terrace to the intersection of Pennant Drive and Pennant Terrace.
SOUTH: Intersection of Whitehall Avenue and Red Hills Road to the intersection of Whitehall Avenue and Pennant Drive.
EAST: Intersection of Whitehall Avenue and Pennant Drive to the intersection of Pennant Drive and Pennant Terrace.
WEST: Intersection of Whitehall Avenue and Red Hills Road to the intersection of Red Hills Road and Pennant Terrace.
During the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries of the curfew are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised in writing by the ground commander.
