30-y-o Farmer Dies from Bike Accident in St Elizabeth
Road fatalities involving motorcycles in Jamaica have increased exponentially over the second quarter, with the latest accident taking place in the parish of St Elizabeth.
Reports are that the latest fatal motor vehicle crash involving a motorcyclist claimed the life of a 30-year-old farmer, Lincoln Lyn of Slipe in Black River, St Elizabeth.
The accident took place about 7:30 pm Monday evening after Lyn was riding his bike along the Lacovia main road in the parish and decided to speed his way to overtake a line of traffic.
The rider lost control of the motorcycle and slammed into the back of a truck before coming to a stop.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to police’s investigations so far, they have determined that the accident was caused by reckless overtaking and speeding.
