22-y-o Woman Chased and Shot Dead by Businessman Who Then Commits Suicide
A 22-year-old woman was reportedly chased and shot dead by her common-law husband, who later used the weapon to take his own life in St James on Friday.
Police have identified the deceased as Wendy Scarlett, a resident of German Town, St James, and Junior Wint, a 47-year-old businessman of More Park also in the parish.
Reports are that at about 3:30 p.m., residents heard loud explosions in the Flamstead Gardens area of the parish and alerted the police, who later arrived in the area.
A search was conducted and the bodies of the two were found.
Sources from the area said Wint and Scarlett got involved in a heated argument when Wint reportedly pulled his licensed and attacked the female victim.
Reports are that the woman ran but was chased by Scarlett to a section of the Flamstead Gardens main road where she was cornered and fatally shot.
Sources say a few minutes later Wint shot and killed himself.
The incident has since left residents in shock
