16-y-o Boy Allegedly Abducted and Raped 11-y-o Girl
A 16-year-old boy who allegedly abducted and raped an 11-year-old schoolgirl and knocked her unconscious after the act, was remanded in custody when he appeared in the Manchester Parish Court on Wednesday.
The accused teenager, whose name cannot be released because of his age, has been charged with several offences by police investigators stemming from the incident which occurred last week.
The teen is charged with rape, forcible abduction, assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, grievous sexual assault, and being a child in need of care and protection.
He is to reappear in court on July 18.
The police reported that on Tuesday, June 18, the girl was on her way home from school in Newport, Manchester, when she was abducted and dragged into bushes, allegedly by the male teenager.
She was then raped, and following the sexual ordeal, was knocked unconscious.
The child was later found and had to be hospitalised for the injuries she sustained.
The teenager was arrested after a probe into the matter, and was subsequently charged after he was pointed out at an identification parade.
The parish of Manchester has seen several reported rape cases this year, some of which have involved gang assaults being committed by males, including teenagers.
