Two Shot Dead by Gunmen in St. James in Separate Incidents
The police are currently investigating the murder of two men who were gunned down in two separate incidents on Wednesday night in St. James.
The first shooting took the life of 34 year old shopkeeper Timothy Scarlet at approximately 8:00 pm when he was attacked by three gunmen. Scarlet is said to be a resident of Glendevon in the parish.
The second shooting claimed the life of Paul Smith, a mason in the parish, after he was approached by a gunman that shot him in the head at around 10:30 pm.
The Barrett Town police responded after residents heard a loud explosion and made an alarm. His body was found laying in a pool of his own blood.
The police are currently investigating.
The parish of St James have recorded a whopping 300 murders since the beginning of 2017.
The recent upsurge of murders in the in the parish has compelled Commissioner of Police George Quallo to lead a tour of some of the crime hotspots in St James today.
