Robber Stabbed to Death while Trying to Rob a Store in Downtown, Kingston
A man who was believed to be behind a string of robberies in the downtown Kingston area was yesterday (Friday, March 17) attacked and stabbed to death by unknown assailants.
Reports are that the man identified as Markeno Gunzell, otherwise called ‘Blast’, a 31-year-old man of Regent Street address, was fatally stabbed as he attempted to carry out a robbery in the Chapel Lane area,downtown Kingston.
Sources stated that the death of the suspect comes one week after he reportedly held up a 71-year-old vendor and used his firearm to hit her in the head after the senior citizen resisted his attempt to grab items from her stall.
Police reports are that at approximately 8:15am Gunzell went to a section of Chapel Lane where he held up a man at knife point and attempted to stage a robbery.
Reports are that he was stopped in his tracks by unknown assailants. “Information reaching the police is that he was disarmed and stabbed several times.”
He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
