Man Found Dead on Church Grounds With Hands and Feet Tied, Westmoreland
Investigators assigned to the Westmoreland Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) continue to probe the murder of a man whose body was found with his hands and feet bound, at the back of a church in his community on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Sheldon Miller, also called ‘Popsie’, a labourer of Race Course, Grange Hill, Westmoreland.
Reports are that Miller was last seen alive about 10:00 p.m. on Saturday at a cock fight along Mint Road in Grange Hill, where he was cooking.
On Sunday morning at about 6:45, residents stumbled upon his body on the church premises along Mint Road, and summoned the police.
Earlier, gunshots were reportedly heard coming from the area.
On the arrival of the police, Miller’s body was seen behind the Light and Life International Ministries Church, lying motionless and face down with a large wound to the head, with his hands and feet bound with brown and black cloth.
He was clad in a grey T-shirt and green shorts.
The body was removed to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, where death was confirmed.
Three 12-gauge casings were removed from the crime scene.
