Hurricane Mathew Drifts More Towards Haiti, Jamaica Still In Danger

The eye of Hurricane Matthew has diverted it’s path to the north westerly direction, sending it slightly away from Jamaica than was previously forecast.

Jamaica still isn’t in the clear – a hurricane watch is still in effect for the island, with the category (4) Mathew is expected to pass on Monday afternoon.

The island can expect to get heavy rains and high waves off the coast with extreme wind pressure of up to 140 mph, which is the latest forecast from the met services.

The parishes of St. Mary, Portland, St. Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew are expected to see 10-20 inches of rainfall.

Mathew spreads over 500 miles in diameter and is predicted to affect portions of Haiti, Cuba and Jamaica has it makes its way north westerly.
