Heavy rains lashing the island of Jamaica since the weekend
Mother nature can be very fierce! And as these motorists in the video below were, one would be wise to think twice before challenging her.
Heavy rains have been lashing the island since the weekend, resulting in flooding in communities across the island.
The National Works Agency (NWA) is reporting that the Rio Cobre has risen to a dangerously high level, affecting the Ackee Walk community.
Traffic through the Bog Walk Gorge is therefore no longer possible, and the thoroughfare has been closed at both ends.
Barry main road, which is usually an alternative to the Gorge is also impassable. As a result, motorists are being advised to travel through Sligoville or use the North South Highway.
