Dancehall Artiste Blames His Recent Car Accident On ‘OBEAH’ – Voodoo
Dancehall artiste Dwayno, known for his song ‘Don A Road’, dedicated to incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel, was recently involved in a car accident and is now blaming it solely on ‘obeah’.
However, unlike J Capri, who is still in an induced coma at the University Hospital of The West Indies, Dwayno’s injuries were not as severe. The artiste has since released a single documenting his experience, titled Still Alive.
In the single, the artiste also accuses friends of plotting against his life because of his relative success in the music industry.
“Mi just a talk mi mind, mi friend dem a try kill mi, mi ketch dem a dash di oil and powder, but mi madda prayer save mi. I put my trust in Jehovah, dem set traps fi mi fall down, but a fada God a carry mi pon him shoulder. Bad mind get the best a dem, mi nuh fraid a dem obeah,” he sings.
Recently released from the hospital after weeks of treatment, Dwayno is expected to perform at several shows overseas and will travel to France, Germany, the USA, as well as several Caribbean islands.
The artiste, who started his career as a ghostwriter for Buju Banton and Voicemail, is also promoting singles like Without Clothes, Roll Yu Bumpa and Pedal And Wheel.
Dwayno also dabbles with hip hop and soca. “I think Still Alive has the potential to create a buzz, and I find it to be a fan favourite because it is based on real-life experiences,” he told The STAR.
