21-y-o Female Dies in Car Crash, Islington in St Mary
The community of Islington in St Mary has been plunged into mourning after a 21-year-old female resident succumbed to injuries she received when she was mowed down by a motorcar on Sunday.
The deceased woman has been identified as Chantoy Wright.
Reports are that at about 1:15 p.m., Wright was walking along a roadway in a section of the community, when she was hit down by a car.
She received several injuries to her head and other sections of her body, and was pronounced dead at hospital.
The police indicated that the driver of the vehicle, who is believed to have been driving under the influence of alcohol, was taken into their custody.
Wright’s tragic death has sent shockwaves throughout Islington, which is regarded as one of the largest communities in St Mary.
Several family members and friends flooded Wright’s Facebook page to express their sadness at her demise.
One comment read: “Only yesterday sis I commented on your page, ‘You go sexy sis’, and today you are gone… the shock of it is unbearable. RIP little sis. Only God knows… only God knows!!!”
A friend commented: “Jah know, me caan believe seh me friend Shawna dead. Jah know, life set a way”.
This was while another friend wrote: “Honestly, I am lost for words, still in shock. A swear this hit me … RIP Chantoy Wright.”
